Around Town: Chattanooga Halloween Haunts

It’s that time of year again when the Chattanooga landscape lights up with vibrant fall colors, coffee becomes pumpkin and people crave cardiac experiences that are sure to yield many sleepless nights in the coming months. So if heart stopping fear is penciled in on your calendar each October, here are four Chattanooga haunted house attractions you need to experience.

Haunted Cavern

Located in a cave crawling with terrifying monsters, the Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern is a unique attraction that adds a new level of fear to the traditional haunted house. Located in Chattanooga, TN, the Haunted Cavern has been named one of the top 10 haunted houses in the nation by Rand McNally. If you’re brave enough, hop in the elevator and descend 26 stories underground… where no one can hear you scream. 

The Haunted Barn

The Haunted Barn is a 16 room walk-thru along with a huge totally dark maze. The Haunted Barn boasts no lines to wait in due to the option to sit by a bonfire and wait for your number to be called. There's also a live DJ playing dance music to keep you entertained as you wait.  

The Haunted Hilltop

The Haunted Hilltop consists of a haunted house, dark maze and a haunted hayride through the woods and a cornfield. The Haunted Hilltop also offers no waiting in line with group numbers being called over P.A. system. There are many things to occupy your time while waiting. The Haunted Hilltop offers a bonfire, concessions, outdoor TV and movies. 

Acres of Darkness

Face the forest’s natural dangers and more in Chattanooga’s naturally terrifying haunted attraction! Featuring an all new cast of characters and surprises, the Haunted Forest Trail is haunted by a host of terrors you won’t see anywhere else.

The Acres of Darkness is fun for the entire family with activities and entertainment for all ages. Play it safe on the kiddie trail or brave our Haunted Forest Trail if you dare. A family area includes a hayride, kid’s activities, a black light maze, and inflatables. Enjoy a s’more and a cup of cocoa by the bonfire or journey to the depths of the forest for the fright of your life.

Blowing Springs Farms

Adventure for the whole family begins by getting lost in Rock City's annual corn maize. Make sure to fuel up with our homemade funnel cakes, and more! Don't forget to swing by the Critter Corral and meet the lovable furry animals. A family outing is not complete with a little competition, so drive around in our pedal carts for a friendly family race. End the night with a relaxing hayride made for the entire family. Fall, fun, laughter and enchantment await...only at the Enchanted Maize at Blowing Springs Farm. 

Halloween Eerie Express

Passengers begin by boarding a vintage train for a trip over four bridges and through Missionary Ridge Tunnel.  Once arriving at the Funhouse Station, riders disembark and enter the Funhouse area.

Features include storytelling, tour through the "gentle thrills" Eerie Fun House, hot cider, blacklight mini golf, games, temporary tattoos, coloring pages, ride back to Grand Junction, and a bag of treats for the children. A festive Halloween experience! The event is a little over an hour and a half in length. The fun house is a 20-room, 2,000 square foot "old time" fun experience. 

Boo in the Zoo

Celebrate Halloween with the Chattanooga Zoo at the most SPOOKtacular event of the year! Boo in the Zoo sells out each year, so don’t forget to purchase your admission tickets in advance! If not sold out, tickets will be available at the door. Last ticket will be sold 8pm each night.
